The Homestead Festival this year is June 2nd and 3rd and although it’s still early April, that weekend is gonna be here before we know it. There are lots of things going on here at the farm; everyone getting ready, making sure that everyone and everything is in place for what is shaping up to be an incredible two-day event. By the way things are going, we’re expecting a few thousand more people than we had last year.
Needless to say, to put on a festival of this size is very expensive and we have a whole team of folks who are working behind the scenes to make it all happen. And although our goal is to try to keep the ticket prices down, it’s a big undertaking and so making them cheaper than they are, isn’t something we haven’t been able to do yet (hopefully next year). But thankfully, for the next two weeks… all the tickets, (except the VIP-they’re already sold out) are going to be ‘buy one, get one paid for by one of our generous sponsors'.
I can’t tell you what a blessing it is to us to get to offer something like that for folks to come this year, especially for the ones where money is tight and getting two tickets for the price of one is a game-changer. I’d tell you who the sponsor is… he’s offered to cover the cost of each of the second tickets (and that could add up to a sizable amount)… but he asked to remain anonymous. He told me that, ‘rather than the credit, he’d rather just have the honor of making it happen’ for people who could use a little help, which is pretty darn amazing.
